Whenever you instruct us, we ensure you have a clear indication of likely costs at the outset.

We will explain the basis on which we will calculate our fee for your matter (eg our hourly rate or a fixed fee) and highlight additional costs that might need to be paid to third parties.

We also provide you with a detailed scope of work, explain the various stages of work, associated timescales and set out who will undertake the work for you.

There are matters where the likely progress of a matter, its outcome and the associated costs are not always easy to predict, especially at the outset.

This can be particularly the case in relation to transactions or litigation, where you and we may well be interacting with others and so are not in complete control of the course of the matter.

We will, however, always draw on our experience to give our best assessment of costs and timescales, and update you concerning any likely revision as promptly as practicable.

Our main objective is to keep you informed and fully aware of the various factors affecting the conduct of your matter. We are also very proactive in identifying and tackling, where possible, issues that might add complexity or delay to the progression of your matter.
