David Garfitt and Sally Robinson are currently getting in touch to explain they will be joining Harrowells and, if you would like them to do so, will continue to look after your affairs as they are now.

They have outlined some of the practical arrangements in their letter or email to you and, for convenience, we will provide additional updates on this page so that you feel fully informed and reassured about the basis for the merger and the related processes.

At this stage, we thought it would be helpful to re-iterate some of the information David and Sally have provided in their initial communication to you.

Will David and Sally continue to look after my current matters?

Yes. A really important aspect of the agreement between the two firms is that David and Sally provide continuity of service and care to their clients, particularly those with active, ongoing matters. For a period of time after the merger, their existing phone numbers and email addresses will remain in place.

Will David and Sally continue to look after my legal affairs in the future?

Yes. They will join the wider team at Harrowells and provide advice and guidance on Private Client and Property matters as they do now. Where appropriate, and with your agreement, they can also draw on the expertise within Harrowells in relation to other areas of law.

Arrangements concerning ongoing matters and the storage of legal documents and files

Your initial letter or email will outline detailed arrangements concerning ongoing matters, if any, and the storage of legal documents and files. If you have any questions, please do call David or Sally via their usual contact details.

Can we still meet with David and Sally in Harrogate and Nidderdale?

If you are a client who valued the convenience of meeting David and Sally in Harrogate and Nidderdale, you will still be able to do so after the merger.

How do I get in touch with David and Sally?

Up until and including 30th April 2025, you should use existing email addresses and telephone numbers for The Garfitt Law Partnership LLP.

On and after 1st May, you can use new Harrowells email addresses and direct dial telephone numbers for David and Sally. These have been provided in your initial communication about the merger and will be available on this website from 1st May.

David and Sally’s postal address, on and after 1st May, will be Harrowells Solicitors, 1 St Saviourgate, York YO1 8ZQ.

Ideally, we would like you to start using David and Sally’s new Harrowells contact details from 1st May 2025 but we will also divert The Garfitt Law Partnership LLP telephone and emails addresses to David and Sally’s new Harrowells set-up for a period of time after the merger to ensure that any communication you accidently send to our ‘old’ contact details still get through. Any post sent to the Dacre address will also be received there.
