Richard Hugill is a solicitor and partner in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, ranked by the 'Chambers and Partners' UK 2020 Guide as a 'leader in his field' for commercial litigation (Yorkshire region).
Richard practises in the Business and Property Courts and acts on behalf of clients in relation to claims arising from trading contracts and disputes relating to partnerships, company shareholders, business acquisitions, directors' duties and those in connection with corporate insolvency. He has considerable experience in making and opposing court applications for asset freezing orders and other types of injunction.
Richard also advises and acts in connection with issues relating to land and arising from property transactions, including option agreements, contested business lease renewals, forfeiture and claims for dilapidations and breaches of covenant.
In addition to his litigation practice, Richard accepts appointments as an accredited Mediator for disputes concerning civil and commercial law. He is also the Firm's Compliance Officer for Legal Practice.
