Knavesmire Pub fundraiser in advance of skydive for Alzheimers Society

Having previously only ever exited an airplane via the covered gangway at an airport, Jo Chesher is doing a very brave and bold thing this month; she is undertaking a sky dive from 10,000 feet in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

As part of her preparation for the jump, Jo has organised a fund raising evening at The Knavesmire Pub (Albemarle Rd, York YO23 1ER) at 8pm on 3rd May, promising, in her words, 'live music, dancing, prizes and laughter'.

Jo is a paralegal in our Private Client Department and much of her work involves assisting individuals and their families deal with the legal and practical consequences of dementia. So the skydive is an opportunity to support a charity closely linked to her area of professional involvement.

The skydive takes place on Saturday 25th May at an airfield near Bridlington. The date coincides with Dementia Awareness Week and, as we have close ties with the Alzheimer's Society in Yorkshire, Jo will be jumping alongside Nicki Nalton (pictured left) who is a one of the Alzheimer's Society full time community fundraisers. Jo's husband, Mark, will be joining the jump team too.

Harrowells will be covering the entry fees and some of the threshold fundraising costs for the jump team. If you would also like to support Jo's efforts, you can visit her justgiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/unitedwejump or you pop along to The Knavesmire Pub on Saturday and enjoy the evening's entertainment.
