More and more business owners and managers are becoming aware that new data protection rules (known as 'GDPR') come into force in May next year. What is not always appreciated is that the rules cover all aspects of personal data and that includes data about current, former and prospective employees.
For many employers, the challenge is understanding what the rules will mean in practice for their organisation and how they should prioritise and sequence their planning, particularly if they have limited internal resource and expertise. If you are in this position, you might like to listen to the podcast below, recorded as part of our series of regular interviews on Minster FM. It provides a useful starting point. We are also holding a series of seminars to provide practical guidance for business owners, managers and those with specific responsibility for HR and/or wider compliance in their organisation. Details are provided at the end of this blog.
