Harrowells Solicitors has become the lead sponsor of North East Raiders, the regional organisation responsible for developing and promoting Touch Rugby across the North East of England.
The sponsorship reflects Harrowells' commitment to supporting activities that encourage participation and bring communities together. As a non-contact version of rugby, Touch Rugby is attracting people of all ages and backgrounds, including women, children and older players who may be less inclined to take part in traditional rugby because of its physical nature and risk of injury.
As lead sponsor, Harrowells will support North East Raiders throughout the year, including regional events across Tyneside, Teesside and Yorkshire, as well as sponsorship of trophies awarded to North East winners at the national finals.
Matt Rowley, Partner and Head of Commercial at Harrowells, said:
“Touch Rugby is a sport that is growing rapidly and appealing to an increasingly diverse range of participants. What attracted us to North East Raiders is the inclusive nature of the game and the opportunities it creates for people to get involved in rugby in a way that suits them.
“We are proud to support organisations that help strengthen communities and encourage participation. We look forward to working with North East Raiders and supporting the continued growth of the sport across the region.”
Joy Carter of North East Raiders said:
“We are delighted to welcome Harrowells as our lead sponsor. This is a significant milestone for us as Harrowells is our first corporate sponsor.
“The support will help us continue to grow the sport, raise awareness of Touch Rugby and enhance the events and opportunities we can offer to players across the region.”
